Chatham County is under a Tropical Storm Warning, we are forecasted to experience the following impacts from Hurricane Michael: Tropical Storm Force winds, 1-3” rainfall, coastal flooding, flooding in low lying areas, isolated tornadoes, RIP currents, and beach erosion. These impacts could lead to downed trees and power lines, resulting in prolonged power outages.
CEMA is urging all residents, businesses, and visitors to prepare for this storm by ensuring all outdoor items are secured, family communication plans are up-to-date, and disaster kits are stocked with at least 3 days of water, nonperishable food, medications and supplies.
